Activity of melatex in early stages of male and female androgenetic alopecia
Androgenetic alopecia is the most common kind of hair loss affecting both men and women. In this study followed by the European Dermatology Institute in Milan (Italy), 30 patients (male and female) were treated for a 90-day period. Efficacy was tested with score charts for efficacy, tolerability, degree of product satisfaction, and product acceptance. A daily topical application of melatex proved to influence hair follicle activity. The results of the stucly were statistically significant, meaning there was a marked improvement following the use of melatex when compared to baseline conditions.
efficacy and safety of melatex in the treatment of early stages of male androgenetic alopecia
Thirty-five male participants affected by androgenetic alopecia were enrolled in this clinical study managed by the European Dermatology Institute in Milan (Italy). The study lasted 6 months. Efficacy was measured using TrichoScan® Technology, a method which combines epiluminescence microscopy with automatic digital image analysis for the measurement of human scalp hair. After 3 months only 3% of the participants observed ongoing excess hair loss, 42% had controlled their hair loss, and 55% showed a measurable improvement in the hair texture. In this last group of participants the hair density measured by the TrichoScan® Technology improved by 30% as early as following 3 months of daily use of the monodose applicator, while in 43% an improvement was measured after 6 months of applications.

Use test with melatex to determine the change of the appearance and texture of fine and thin-looking hair
Female and male participants were recruited to this study by professional hair Salons in the Tampa Bay area (USA). They were required to apply melatex daily at bedtime and then record hair loss after combing their hair for 60 seconds each morning for a 90-day period. Hair texture and hair loss improvement were rated during monthly visits to the Salons by Salon professionals. Salon professionals reported seeing improvements in hair loss and hair texture throughout the study period. Results from the 60-second comb test revealed a significant decrease in the daily number of hairs shed over the 90-day study period in both, the female and male participants.
